Q: Where does the salt come from?

A: Our Fleur de Sel is hand-harvested by independent farmers out of Brittany, France. It is then shipped to our warehouse in the U.S. awaiting your order.

Q: Why is our name “Louis Sel”?

A: Karen’s first dog was a little rescue poodle named Louis who she nicknamed Petit Louis. Sel is the french word for salt; put them together and voila.

Q: Is your salt iodized?

A: We do not add any iodine to our salt.

Q: How is the salt made into crystals?

A: Fleur de Sel’s crystal shape is formed naturally. It forms as a fine sheet on the surface of the water where it reveals itself to natural elements: the wind, the sun, and the ocean. The Fleur de Sel is then delicately skimmed off the crystallizers at dusk during the summer harvest.

Q: What is the difference between Fleur de Sea and Sel Marin?

A: Fleur de Sel is the crystallized salt skimmed off the surface or the ocean, whereas Sel Marin (also known as sea gris) is skimmed from the bottom. Sel Marin mixes with the mineral-rich clay, giving it its grey color. Sel Marin is a naturally-produced sea salt that does not undergo any cleaning, whitening or chemical treatment like many industrially-refined salts.

Q: How can I check my order status?

A: You will receive a confirmation via email or text once your order is placed then another one when it’s fulfilled and shipped. For updates, please email info@louissel.com.

Q: What payment methods are accepted?

A: We accept all major credits cards or payments can be done via PayPal.

Q: How long does it take for delivery?

A: 4-6 business days from the time of placing your order.

Q: How can I track my orders?

A: A USPS tracking code will be attached to your order confirmation and emailed to you.

Q: What do I need to do if I don’t receive my products?

A: Contact us by sending us an email at info@louissel.com, we will reach out to you as soon as possible.

Q: Do you ship outside the United States?

A: We currently do not ship internationally.

Returns & Refunds

Q: Do you accept returns?

A: We only accept returns if your product arrives damaged. To receive a refund or replacement, product must be returned within 30 days of receipt. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment in 5-10 business days. Q: How can I get a refund or replacement if order is damaged?

A: If there is a problem with your order, contact us by sending us an email at info@louissel.com, we will reach out to you as soon as possible. We accept returns sent to Louis Sel LLC, 341 Beacon St, Apt 3E, Boston, MA 02116. Do not send your product directly to the manufacturer.
